Troy Harden, MSW, LCSW
Troy Harden received his Masters
in Social Work from Loyola University at Chicago. He serves as faculty and administration within DePaul
University’s Masters of Social Work Program. He also taught
courses in Psychology, Sociology and the School of Education at DePaul
University, including courses on Human Development, the Psychology of
Men, the Psychology of African American Children, Community Technology
and the Digital Divide, and Community Service and Social Justice. A
trainer and facilitator since 1991, he has been responsible for co-creating
and facilitating diverse educational learning experiences for men, women,
adolescents and children in several countries, including adolescents
in West Africa, business executives in England, Non Governmental Organization’s
in Mexico, incarcerated “lifers” in maximum security prisons
in California, and 4th and 5th graders in West Englewood, Chicago. His
research interests include youth development, cross cultural leadership,
and race, class, gender and culture. His current research project
focuses upon African American and Latino males involved in the criminal
justice system and re-entry into Chicago Public Schools. His mission
is to create safe places where diverse groups of people can develop into
their full potential as active citizens who think globally and act locally. He
is the founder and President of Tapestry Consulting.
Bharataji Tony Joplin C.A.M.C.
Bharataji is a Certified Anger Management Counselor through The Anger Management
Institute of Chicago. He is a certified Co-Leader in The ManKind Project,
internationally recognized as the pre-immanent men's experiential training
organization. A trainer, mentor and facilitator, Mr. Joplin is the current Center
Director of The ManKind Project in Chicago.
Mariana Osoria, MA
Mariana Osoria has been a trainer and facilitator
for several years. She
has worked in the field of social service for the past fifteen. Prior
to becoming a trainer, Mariana received a Masters Degree from the University
of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration, with a focus on
community development, program development, and administration. Ms.
Osoria has had extensive experience working in diverse training settings. Some
areas of expertise are diversity, cultural competency, parental involvement,
peer mentoring, resilience, sustainability, capacity building and building
partnerships and collaborations. Mariana has a far-reaching list
of organizations for which she has provided training and facilitation,
including the Chicago Public Schools, Bank Street College, Northwest
Regional and Educational Laboratory, the Corporation for National and
Community Service, Prevention First Inc., Latino Prevention Network,
Tutor/Mentor Connection and Youth Guidance. In addition, her work
looks at school change, social justice, coalition building, and utilizing
culture and ethnicity in the classroom. Mariana is currently the
Chair of the Board of Directors for the Latino Coalition for Prevention,
a statewide coalition in Illinois. She is dedicated to providing
meaningful learning opportunities that strengthen organizations on both
a local and global level.
Jason Washburn, PhD
Jason J. Washburn earned his B.A. in psychology
and sociology from the State University of New York at
Fredonia. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical
Psychology from DePaul University, specializing in
child and adolescent psychology. He completed his
doctoral residency at the University of Washington
School of Medicine, his postdoctoral clinical training
at the University of Michigan Medical School, and his
postdoctoral research training at the Northwestern
University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a
research assistant professor at Northwestern, a
director of clinical outcomes at Alexian Brothers
Behavioral Health Hospital, and he has a small private
practice in Chicago. He teaches and consults on
topics of human diversity and "-isms," juvenile
delinquency, and evidence-based psychological
practice.
